WAX REMOVAL METHODS
Our clinical wax care specialists will be able to talk through the options, review your completed health questionnaire and advise on the most suitable method for you:
- MANUAL EXTRACTION: Manual ear wax removal is performed using a long thin instrument that are carefully and gently used dislodge the wax and remove it from your ear. This method is most typically suitable for removing a small amount of wax that has built up near the entrance of your ear canal.

IRRIGATION: The water irrigation method to remove ear wax allows the technician to flush warm water through the ear canal using an ear irrigator, allowing the wax to be removed. The irrigation solution is carefully warmed to body temperature to reduce dizziness and/or vertigo (which can commonly occur if the solution is either too warm or too cold). We use the spray to gently stream water into the ear, it may need to be repeated a couple of times. When the wax has been removed, we use a special mopping apparatus to dry the ear canal.

MICROSUCTION: Microsuction is the cleanest and safest method of wax removal as it does not require water to remove the wax.

I contacted Imperial Hearing when trying to find a solution for my 7yr old who had extremely blocked ears. The GP was no help and would not extract the wax and kept giving us drops which didnt work. Estelle on reception was amazing and got hold of the owner Simon on holiday who agreed to see us as he appreciated how frustrating the situation was being a parent himself. At the appointment using very light suction both ears were cleared and my sons hearing improvement was instant.

After having several GPs mention my ears were full of wax, I booked an appointment at Imperial Hearing. On arriving they were friendly and helpful and I was quickly seen. The specialist looked at my ears and mentioned that only 1 needed doing, which was very honest. I had microsuction which was totally unobtrusive and painless. The amount of wax that came out was satisfying to see. All in all I was very impressed and would recommend to anyone.

Expensive but the service was great. Looked after my father really well and have recalibrated his hearing aids and sorted out a battery issue. He is now able to hear much better and without the annoying feedback he was getting.
